Xu received his bachelor of medicine from Henan Medical University and Ph.D. from Tongji Medical University, China. He was an associated Prof. in Peking University Health Science Center, China, where he was investigating the functional mechanism of an apoptosis-related protein PDCD5 supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. After joining Dr. Gerszten’s group, he started using LC-MS/MS-based qualitative and quantitative proteomics/metabolomics techniques to explore novel protein/metabolite biomarkers in human plasma for myocardial injury and other diseases. Now, as a collaborative and multi-disciplinary senior scientist, he is mainly focusing on LC-MS/MS-based targeted and non-targeted techniques to profile metabolites from body fluid and cell/tissue lysate, as well as pharmacokinetic studies etc.
