Sammy graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He subsequently completed his fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and a Masters in Public Health at the Harvard School of Public Health. He then came to MGH where he completed fellowship training in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease and has since been a member of the faculty of the Cardiology Division. Dr. Elmariah also serves as the Associate Director of Trial Design at the Harvard Clinical Research Institute.  His research focuses on valvular heart disease. Specifically he is investigating the use of novel metabolomic and imaging biomarkers to predict left ventricular reverse remodeling, clinical outcomes, and symptomatic improvement after transcatheter aortic valve replacement for severe aortic valve stenosis.
